Will the chalk design smudge?

We generally use liquid chalk markers for wedding and event chalkboards to avoid any swiping or smudging from pick up to the conclusion of your event. However, we do still recommend taking extra care of each chalkboard. Permanent paint markers will only be used for purchased orders or special requests.

What type of chalk do you recommend for business clients?

Our business clients have the option of regular chalk, liquid chalk markers or permanent paint markers. We will provide professional input on which medium would be best for your request. For example, we recommend regular chalk for a larger chalkboard that will be changed frequently or seasonally, and liquid chalk markers for large chalkboards that will remain the same for quite some time, such as menus.

What is your turn around time for chalkboards?

Our turn around time for day-of chalkboard signage is 4-5 weeks. All chalkboard orders must placed no later month prior to event date. We are using this time for creating preliminary sketches, making any requested changes to the sketches and creating your final chalkboard(s). Are chalkboard rentals available?

Yes! We have an inventory of many chalkboards in different sizes, frames and shapes. We will provide guidance through our inventory to help you choose the chalkboards that will work best with the aesthetic of your event.

Can I purchase my chalkboards?

Of course! Purchased chalkboards are available for the client to keep with no return necessary. There is an additional charge for purchased chalkboards. Changing from rented to purchased chalkboards is okay too! The difference will be owed if you originally ordered rented chalkboards and decided you would like to purchase them after your event.

Are easel rentals available?

If needed, we do provide easels for our clients. Easel rentals are $40 for each large easel and $10 for small tabletop easels.

Can I provide my own chalkboard?

Hand lettering can be completed on almost any surface. If you already have a chalkboard or other surface that you'd like us to use, please let us know! For more information about pricing, please email us here.

Can my order be shipped?

Your purchased chalkboard order can be shipped to anywhere in the United States. If you are an out of state client please let us know and we would be more than happy to accommodate to the occasion. Shipping and handling fees will be applied to the final payment.

What is your turn around time for hand lettered envelope addressing?

Our turn around time for envelope addressing is 2-3 weeks*. We are using this time for creating preliminary sketches, making any requested changes to the sketches, hand lettering each envelope and double checking that all information and spelling matches the addresses and recipients we receive from you. * for recipient addressing: 2-3 weeks begins once we receive your recipient address spreadsheet

How far in advance should I book my chalk artist for business services?

About 2 weeks in advance is preferred for new business clients. This allows for preliminary sketching, changes and edits if necessary and adjustments to our schedule to accommodate the time it will take to complete your request.

What is required before the chalk services for my business can begin?

All wording, content and requested illustrations must be submitted before we create a sketch for you. A final, approved sketch must be established before we travel to your business to complete the final artwork. All chalkboards and surfaces for our artwork must be provided by our client. We are more than happy to help with retailer suggestions.

PICK UP

Rented orders are generally completed 1-2 weeks before your event. All orders must be picked up from our office location in Hoboken, New Jersey. A pick up date will be roughly determined once your order has been placed. If renting chalkboards, the pick up date will be scheduled within the week of your event.

Once your order is finalized and ready for pick up, we will schedule an exact day and time that is convenient for you.

DROP-OFF

Our clients have one week from the day of the event to drop off rented chalkboard(s) to our Hoboken, New Jersey office location. This date and time will be scheduled during the pick up of your order.

DEPOSIT & PAYMENT

Upon signing of our client agreement, a 50% deposit is required for all orders. Your remaining balance will be completed during pick up. We accept cash (including Venmo), check or PayPal for deposits. Checks will not be accepted for remaining balances.  

CANCELATION POLICY

We take great pride in our reputation and the quality of our work. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your custom creation or in the event that you need to cancel our services, your remaining balance will not be required and your 50% deposit will not be refunded. We will assist you with changes to elements that you are not 100% satisfied with free of charge. Cancellation due to unforeseen events must be made at least 3 weeks before your scheduled event date. Any cancelation post the third week mark will result in the full charge of your order.
